Flight to San Francisco left at 11, so I got up early to see the ocean for one last time here in Hawaii. Returning the rental car was smooth and I was up in the air before I knew it.
Hawaii was exotic and wild, the native population has a sense of pride like nowhere else in America. Have you ever seen a person from Massachusetts with a tattoo of the state on their arm? Here it’s the norm. As I said earlier, I’m more of a woods person than a beach and definitely more Alaskan than Hawiian. I’d never spent so many days in a row without wearing sneakers. My feet were pretty trashed from the coral reefs and the flippers from snorkeling. I even had two spots directly on the balls of my white sparrow feet that were hurting from being exposed to sun and hot, hot sand. I enjoyed my time here and I really actually think I’ll be back someday.
Hawaii is very peaceful and restful. You can easily visit here and forget all your worries. The temperature and sunshine are like no other place, completely pleasant and comfortable literally every second of the day. I’d like to give special thanks to my pal JR who’s love for Hawaii was the final push I needed to get here. Even while on vacation in Miami, you were able to answer my questions and get me going in the right direction. Mahalo my brother, and Go Red Raiders.
Visiting Hawaii was not my idea. It was the idea of someone very special to me. Since you were a young girl, your dream was to visit this alluring place. I’m glad to be the one who was by your side as you realized your dream. Your “I say we do it.” attitude has comforted me more often than you realize. Mahalo SB…..
