Woke at the butt crack of dawn and was in the air headed to Seattle by 7:45am. On the flight up I saw some of the Pacific Northwest’s natural wonders from my seat on the plane. There was Mt Shasta, Crater Lake, Mt. Hood, and Mt Rainier.
Switched planes for Anchorage and was on the ground by 12:30.
Rental car guy said he’d meet me in a yellow truck. Out front a guy in a white truck and I stared at each other til we were the only ones left. So finally I said something and we made the connection……he had a yellow hat.
The car was a 2004 Ford Taurus wagon and it was to be my transportation……and sleeping quarters for the next 12 days. With half the back seat down, I kitted it out at Wal-Mart with a foam mattress top folded into thirds, a sheet and a blanket. With a pillow that I brought it looked so inviting that I tested it out in the parking lot and woke up 3 hours later……it was actually VERY comfortable. A soon as the windows fogged up I had all the privacy I needed. Hit my favorite fishing shops in Anchorage, made a plan for the week, bought some food, gassed up, and went to sleep, ready to attack tomorrow.
Great pics....who are these talented photographers??? So nice to hit the button in my favorites to unlock a fresh entry on the blog. Its like a drip feed, but I love it.
