Today’s mission was to visit the world famous San Diego Zoo. Little did I know ten thousand other people had this very same mission. Knowing the zoo was open til nine, I slept in a little and wanted to arrive around noon….big mistake. I drove the huge lot once and headed for zee hills. It was a mob scene.
Ended up at a flea market……. Can you tell I love flea markets? Bought some quality T shirts, you know, ones with cheesy expressions like “Enjoy California” written in the Coke script for $3.50 each…At that price I could use them as rags and still get my money’s worth. Amazingly enough I even managed to buy a pair of shoes.
I arrived 20 minutes late to tour this giant aircraft carrier in San Diego Harbor, then visited the cities “upscale” mall….both were utter disappointments. With advice, I even held back on pulling the trigger on a really nice watch.
Had some scampi and a salad at Red Lobster and called it a day……zoo tomorrow.
You can see the remnants of the fire ants in the photo.....pay no attention to the chalky white foot though.
Also….the annual good wishes for my parents as well as my sister and her husband Ian, all celebrating their wedding anniversaries today, 46 and 16 years respectively. I could use the usual cliches' and funny stuff and say long, hard, etc, etc…..but the fact is my friends, that’s a whole lotta’ of love…….
